Welcome to the Framework: a classification system that maps the natural world to music. When I set out to build this, I could have stopped at insects. But I didn't, because nature doesn't stop there either. Arachnids, myriapods, crustaceans... the arthropods are more vast than every other animal group combined. Evolution doesn't respect our categories. So why would I limit myself? My imagination knows no bounds. Neither does nature. Neither does evolution. Who knows, my logic may end up mutating and consequentially, I could add more orders or genres. For instance, I may see a pseudoscorpion that I feel would be perfectly suited for a subgenre of throat singing music and pair it with an album accordingly, or vise versa. The music I have categorized is heavily influenced by Western society and I expect that as I explore more globally, I will need to revise my framework. I am excited by this. Every order below has been intentionally paired with a genre.
